then why did he make my dad an achoholic, why did i have Luekemia, a type of cancer, when i was eight MONTHS old ? why does my mom keep me locked up away from everyone ? Why did he kill my best friends little sister in a car crash . Why, why did her dad commit suicde on Christmas ? Christ's birthday ?

don't tell me Satan caused this .
cause if he did, god would've protected us .
 

A) God should be capitalized ..B) God gave us free will and some...most people take it for granted and use it for granted. So maybe for one of those reasons somebody committed a sin punishable by death or God had a bigger plan for them. As Christians we HAVE to both LOVE and FEAR God. ..

god is a loving god he loves everyone and would do any of that
because he loves us all too much
so dont go and blame every thing bad that happens to you on god
he loves you and never would want to hurt you
and of course its not satan
everything happens for a reason
so just remember that god loves you
and is always there with you when your going though hard times
and you can always
pray and ask god to help you :)




 

Hey, I'm sorry to hear about that. It's gotta be hard getting over all of that. I honestly believe things happen for a reason, and after things happen all you can do is take a step back, and learn from it. And maybe after you figure things out, you can help other people that have been through some of the same things. I was molested by my uncle when I was eleven, and the pain from it has caused so much more than what can be seen on the surface. But I'm not holding anything against the world, because I can't do anything about what's already happened in my life. So i keep remembering that there's more along this road of life we're all on, and if you're upset about something that happened to you, or to your friend just know that there's more to it. There's a reason you're here, and if you want to do something amazing with your life, do it. Don't hold back because you got a rough start in the beginning.
And as far as the whole God thing, yes I believe. Just in a different way than other people. God is not to blame for what happens to us all, we just need to know that things happen, and it's up to you how you react to it. Anyone of us can do great things for this world, it's just a matter of who is going to get out of what a lot of society is trying to teach everyone. One person can cause a great shift, and if you change one person's life for the better, you're changing your's for the better as well. Live, Love, and Let Go(:

sarah, your family is the way they are to make you who you are. you're probably the strongest person you know, if you know yourself well. we wouldn't go through the things we do if there wasn't a specific reason and plan in mind.

But God loves you and all the people you mentioned.
But he doesn't seek you. You must seek him.
If you don't have a true relationship with him, he won't protect you.
When your striving to know him, he will keep you safe.
But because he gives us the choice to follow him, he won't protect you unless you are living your life for him.

That is a super good comment/question, and I'm so so sorry to hear that.. seriously.. those kind of things are the way of the world. Evil things happen every single day. What would we learn from if there were no evil? Miracles and good things happen everyday as well. We could spend our time on earth wandering with no direction and no purpose watching TV and obsessing with lust over material things or looking a certain way or we can use this life to it's most full potential and change the world for the better, or at least have a hand in it.

If you don't believe in God, then I'm cool with that %100, I may not agree with you but that's a personal thing and not everyone can agree on everything. Simple enough. This blog was written more to open the eyes of the individuals getting lost in the twilight zone of the media. I said it clearly "You don't have to believe me." I honestly just wanted to share what an amazing feeling it is to have a light in your heart for the first time in a long time.

The only thing I can say is that you're blaming God cause there is no one to blame, I don't even think "Satan" or the enemy did any of those things, what the enemy IS doing is keeping you locked up with these things and you are dwelling on them rather then trying to help other kids who have alcoholic dads or have had Luekemia, bless your heart for surviving.

The more terrible things you have lived through the stronger you are, as cliche as it sounds. Every little problem that I personally have ran into, I see as a blessing because I know as soon as I get through it I can help someone else get through the same exact thing and they would help the next like a giving tree. If the whole world did this we could all be at peace.

I'm not saying I don't struggle.. I could sit here all day and complain about my real dad who I hardly even know being addicted to needles and choosing that life over one with me..
but I stand strong and optimistic like a soldier for the Lord because he has proven it to me that he very much exists, in fact exists in EVERYTHING, and you will know that too if you really seek God. I can promise that.

I believe there is a "God", but not one that everyone believes in. I don't make myself apart of other people's beliefs. I try to keep to my own thoughts, my own feelings. It makes me think that I do have a choice what I want to believe in. I have been to church, I have tried other religions, but, it's never worked. And there are some people out there who just try to push their religion down your throat. They want you to believe in what they believe in. My sister had this problem with her ex-in-laws. They told her that if she didn't go to church with them ever Sunday, and didn't commit herself to God completely, she was going to go to Hell and become his sex slave (because they called her a gold digging slut and she didn't deserve their son). Yeah, they were a little crazy. That's why, when people ask me if I'm religious, I tell them "Yes, I am. But, it's my own religion. Something only I believe in. Nobody else is apart of it but me". Sometimes I get told that I'm atheist or agnostic, but really I'm not. I just don't like to classify as anything. It's makes things easier. Sometimes, the people try to keep a conversation with it, and keep asking questions, but I just walk away. I don't judge people for what they believe, so why am I judged? I just don't like people who think that they are right about everything, and everyone else is wrong.



Just so you know, I was not pointing this towards you at all. I would of said this same thing to anyone. It wouldn't matter what religion they were, this is what I would tell them. I think what you had to say was incredible. The dedication you have to your religion; what you believe in. It's great that you have respect for yourself and what you have to say. I also like how you said "there is a God that loves you". You said "there is a God", not just "God loves you". You think about other peoples thoughts and feelings. This is why I respect you so much Mat Musto.


Sorry I wrote so much. I never get to express myself this about my thoughts and feelings about religion.

I belive that god is real yet can be made of nothing. The only way he can truely help you is if you believe, yeah he's helped others but if you don't believe it's like blocking him out so you can't see what he's doing. There are times I don't belive eveerything in the bible, but sometimes the things I don't believe just happen, thats pretty much faith. I really don't like church but my grandma makes me go. I sit there, I go to youth group, then when I get home I pick out what was good and what I might want to get more into to see what it is.

I believe there is a god, I believe if there were never "bad" things in the world why would there be "good" things.

Thats who god is to me.

i agree completely. i was raised a christian, but never TRUELY got saved until about tenth grade. not because my family forced me to, but i felt that it was time for me to give myself to God COMPLETELY. i'm not the kind of person that judges people who aren't christians. i don't shove christianity down someone's throat, because jesus never forced anyone to believe Him. in fact i have ALOT of atheist friends. i never ask them to believe what i believe but i show them the care and the compassion that they deserve in a friend. part of being a christian is being understanding and loving and caring. to look out for people who don't believe. to protect them. since i can remember, my dad has claimed to be buddhist, my parents have been divorced since i was 7, but i sent him a letter telling him how much i love him and never want anything to happen to him, no matter how bad he hurt me, i told him i forgave him for every wrong he ever did to me, and that at the end of the day, i would give my salvation to save him and send HIM to heaven, no matter what i risk. i would lay down my salvation for ANYONE in my life. thats just how i was raised. God truly is amazing. he does great things. he puts you through trials in life to see how you move forward from them, NOT to turn you against him. i'm sure you have heard the saying "God gave you this life because he made you strong enough to live it." There isn't a day that God expects you to fail, he only wants you to succeed but people blame him and hold things against him when in reality he just wants you to grow from the experience and like Mat said, help others through similar situations. ..
....when my parents got a divorce, i lived with my mother, who hardly ever had the money to pay for bills, let alone groceries. she gave her food to make sure her 3 kids ate. she always cried because there was never enough money, but somehow when she paid the bills, there was always an endless supply of money. like her bills would either already be paid, or over paid, but she always paid the minimum. you may not believe that is a miracle, but to me, I KNOW IN MY HEART that IT IS. we found $100 bill in random places in our house. maybe its because we lived in our great grandmas house, and God knows old people hide money, lol, but i think it was God asking us to trust him, and he will never let you fail. but as i got older we became fairly wealthy, but i think my mom got too greedy and began to loose her faith, she started trusting her money instead of God. So i believe that when that happened God took the money back, because we would get money, then LOOOOOOSE MONEY. and right now my mom hasn't had a job in almost a year. money is soooo tight again, and she cries just like she use to cry, but when she cries i grab her face, and hold her head high and look her into the eyes and tell her not to loose her faith, that God put us through it once, we can do it again. He wouldn't put us through these trials if he didn't know that we weren't strong enough to succeed. yes, life is hard, it was NEVER meant to be easy. but a little faith goes a long way. God WILL test your faith. but i believe he has a good reason to. he has faith in you, why not have faith in him?....
....as an 18 year old NOW, i have a friend that i work with who is 41, she is my best friend at the moment. but she also has problems making ends meet, due to the economy, i told her not to loose faith, because i PROMISE God will help her. i know that he will... ESPECIALLY because i believe that he sent her to me for a reason. God introduces you to certain people for a reason. usually to help them, or for them to help you. ....
....thats my thoughts on the subject. life is a beautiful, yet messy thing. embrace the good, let go of your past, and trust in God. never loose your faith:) ....

..No more frowns, no more sad faces, all we need for this, is by changing the way we live and learn AGAIN. We can’t keep doing “this”  if  “this” is getting us to “this.”  We are a part of nature we adapt into different habits and lifestyle’s. What if our lifestyle is a better way sometime in the near future, the past has changed us into what we are now.  “Why not” choose are future, we are totally capable of doing this.  It’s up to us to make that change in ourselves to be a part of a healthier society.  What if the future had a totally different look as a whole on life then we had in the past, meaning as in the difference we have made since 1900  till now, “Why not” keep doing our humanly culture and grow more as one instead of as an individual. Keep adapting to this world more and keep figuring things out, keep growing as a whole and not leave some countries behind, “Why not” catch them up with us as the leaders in the world. What do we do as Americans when a neighbor or a friend gets a gift for one, we accept it and call them a “friend.”  “Why not” be a friend to our kind wrather then our selves.


We want to stay connected, stay true, and most of all stay POSITIVE. The Three things we promise you that you will receive in return and if you think about it, that’s all you really need to be HAPPY and SUCCESSFUL. “Why not”

I believe there is a God who sent his only son to die for our sins. And bcuz of that sacrafice everyone in this earth has the right to either except or deny it. And if it wasnt for pain we wouldnt have a healin loving God. I know that eventhough u may not see him u can feel him! I believe he is our creator and because of that we where created in His image. Created fearfully and wonderfully made! :) God bless you too! And dnt stop believing in him. He made u for a special purpose. -ivon.
 

God is the king of all kings, he is the most impressive person/thing in the universe...
He sent his VERY OWN son in flesh to come down and die, just so our measly sinful selves can have a chance. He gave us a choice to accept him into our hearts and to repent so that we may go to heaven, not by good deeds but by believing. That is why your music is so inspiring, you talk about REAL things and BIG situations, you also talk about BELIEVING, which sits heavy on my heart. I DO bevieve in god and he is my personal savior, as for everyone else I cannot jugde. I thnak you Mat for taking a stand and making this blog. This has been a very good tool for me to see that some people REALLY DONT believe the way we do. Thank you for standing up for god and being an inspiration for all who read.

I do believe there is a God and He's always there for me and loves me. I do believe he can do miracles because my uncle used to be an alcoholic. Now he doesn't drink anymore. ..I love it how you wrote this and I hope many people see this blog :)....

I don't believe any form of religion from any stand point is simple. God gave us the choice to live amongst the world or of the world, and that choice is a choice that you have to make everyday.


 

i sometimes think that God is simply a persons conscience.
it makes sense.
and in a sense, talking things out with yourself gives you a better understanding of everything and you're able to calmly rationalize and think things through more deeply on your own.
eh, i dont know, it hard for me to accept the idea of  a divine person out there that knows everything about me.

..I don't see God as a old man with a big beard, if anything God to me is in everything, I see God as a force.. God IS the universe and his love allows things to work and move and happen. So technically you can say "If God can create himself, then who says the universe just can't create itself" If God is everything.. then God created creation itself. Kinda how I see it, ya'll don't have to agree haha...
 

I thought about that once. I asked... I was told not to think that but, I'm just really curious. We'll find out sooner or later.
