Hello kookaburra's of the koala clan,

This is a copy of an email I send out to our mailing list.
If you would like to receive it instead of seeing it on this myspace blog, simply email your email to our email:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, it's been a very long time since I last wrote. But KateGoes haven't stopped. I've written lot's of songs. That's it really.

No, not really:
We've been featured on BBC6 radio stations. Tom Robinson, Stuart Maconie, Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe and Chris Hawkins have all played us. As well as Huw Stephen's show on Radio 1 and I've a hunch someone heard us on Radio 2 so if anyone else has heard us, it would be lovely to find out.

There is a pending publishing contract I got myself tangled up into (very professional).

The magical woman who used to produce John Peel's show is responsible for getting us a Maida Vale session, slots at Radio 1's Big Weekend and Latitude festival and more. She is called Louise Kattenhorn and I hope her career as a producer at Radio 1 is long and plentiful. All I did was send her a Happy Dancing CD and decorate the envelope! Just like the old days of people giving out comic books and 4 track tapes on street corners in the 60's and getting popular.

We've also got Static Caravan's "Binary Oppositions" Compilation, which they put 'Heartbeat' on, to thank for getting us played on BBC6 and stations in California, Hungary, Germany and more.
So thank you.

Thank you Grandmaster Gareth of Misty's Big Adventure for still plugging away for us after taking us on two tours when we started out and getting me in touch with people he knows.
They have a new album out called Television's People. Susie and her sister sing on track 4 with me (Kate) as well on track 7.  Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals munches vegetables on track 6 but don't download this track on it's own and expect it to represent the rest of album as suggested by the NME ! "8/10"

::: We are planning to make our VERY FIRST ALBUM with Gareth's nudging and our deep enthusiasm. At the moment we're deciding the order and recording in Susie's dad's garage. With hope to get the proper recording done in February and have it ready by March. :::

We have our third gig supporting Jeffery Lewis and the Jitters after they asked us again:

Thursday 27th November – Bar Academy, BIRMINGHAM

So thanks to them.

AND NOW TO THE NITTY GRITTY!
We are going to try and do a tour of our own, looking for gigs from the beginning of January right through to the end of February. Whether supporting or headlining, as long as people can get to see us play again we're not fussy.
If anyone, but ANYONE, knows someone who can put us on or can put us on themselves or knows a band looking for a support then we would like to hear from you.

If anyone knows of a venue or a promoter that would suit us, we may not have heard about them so any details of pubs, clubs and promoters where you live would be lapped up.

I will be sending emails to contacts I have made myself and together we can hopefully put a tour together and chirrup our simultaneously stupid and sincere chirps to every far reach of the country.

If people want to see us play places and let us know it can serve as a great weight to help us get a show there.

Any fanzines, magazines, local radio stations, podcasts or bloggers, we are surrounded by a whiff of organisational ability to answer any questions or send out any music you would like.

Well there we are.
I hope you are all ill and well informed.
I don't know if it's better to be well and ill informed...that's a toughy.
Hope to see you in the future.

You're loyal band,
BIRD :: BETH :: JOE :: KATE :: SUSIE
And together they are KateGoes.

Hello Martin,

Thanks for the offer.
When I know more details about gig dates I'll get in touch again.
If you have any special themed nights or good bands lined up that you think we should be involved with, do let me know.

From Kate

If you're into the student circuit, come to Nottingham Uni - head of student union events is a woman called Gemma Chance, find her number on the Nottingham Uni SU site - they're always looking for good bands.
