Many friends, donuts, and IDA drew me to Portland and Seattle during the middle of September.
When I got off the plane on Thursday morning, I took the mAX train into the city. From there I skated to Voodoo Too.

My first bite of what would turn into many more donuts to come.
Fudge picked me up from Voodoo and after a brief stop at his pad, we picked up Justin Hocking and went to Burnside.
Fudge - ripping - Burnside - double transfer.

After skating we grabbed lunch at Paradox Cafe.

After checking out CAL SKATE and meeting Howard, we got directions to the new Gabriel Skatepark

We drove out to the river and saw several breathtaking waterfalls.

That water was COLD!

On the drive back into town we stopped by Cal's Pharmacy/Department of Skateboarding where I met my contact, Bird!

We missed the Michael Burnett photo show by a month, this month it's Jai Tanju.

Shrunken Head Mike.

We picked up Antonia and went to NUTSHELL for dinner. Bigfoot had just been up and painted all the signage.

After dinner we stopped back by Voodoo to end the night. Fudge got the Bacon Maple bar.

Juan met me bright and early for tofu scramble at the Paradox Cafe.

Juan and I rode bicycles to his house to see Sabine.

Check out this selection from MIGHTY O's!

This is how they begin life.

Marshall met me at MIGHTY's, had a donut, then took me on a tour of the MANIK HQ, then we had a skate at Innerspace Skatepark.

I bounced to meet Coleen at her coffee joint.
Bobby and I rolled up to Lower Woodland where we met Eric G for a skate.
Eric G - light on his feet - Lower Woodland.

Steven Reeves showed up.

Had dinner with Eric at Bamboo Curtain.

Soundcheck.

The real deal.... IDA in Seattle.

The show was right at the base of the Space Needle.

I slept on Marshall's couch and hung with CHUNK in the middle of the night.
Chunk and I before I took off early.

Marginal Way Skatepark at 8am. It's gnarly anytime of the day.

Battleground Skatepark is epic.

On my drive back into Portland I made my way to Veganopolis for brunch. They served up a delicious mac and cheese.

Charmaine grows lots of stuff in her garden. Here I sample a strawberry!

After all the hype about voodoo and Mighty O's, turns out I liked the donunt from Sweet Pea the best.

Fudge and I hooked up to go to the Glenhaven Skatepark where we had a surprise guest.

Mikendo and the Ezekiel team were doing a BBQ.

I grabbed a burrito at Laughing Planet before the showing. I really wanted to see this movie, mainly because of....

Charmaine met me at the movie and then took me by her new art studio.

Kristina had me over for some hangout time and a coconut juice. We went out to see BURN AFTER READING.

Juan and I went to see this 1979 Jeff Bridges movie called WINTER KILLS. intrigue, suspense, great acting, all in a rundown theater where you could be drinking a beer.

Monday morning Fudge and I started the day at West Linn. Floater over the hip. This is where Wilburn has the crazy follow filmer lines.

Tigard is sick but was infested with bikers.

Lunch break and It's a Beautiful Pizza.

Fudge got me off my ass after the pizza and we took it to Burnside again. I'm glad we went because it was sick seeing Chet skate up to the park and get down to business.

KB had me over for dinner before the IDA show. Thanks, darling!

IDA my last night in Portland.

This is the dozen I brought back on the plane for the pals back in San Diego.

I actually bought 13 and thought it would be fun to eat one miles in the sky!
