This event was everything I ever dreamed of as a vert starved teenager in Kansas in the late 80's. NO jocks, no competition, just ripping at your own rate and FUCKING FUN. I am so so grateful that I made the drive out there both days...
Friday I went with Oaks and Gabe and didn't get my camera out. Highlights were definitely seeing Wade Speyer, Maximum Schaaf, and Hewitt skate. I was so hyped on the experience that I told everyone I knew who would appreciate it and came back the next day alone!

Ben Schroeder is an all time favorite. He wasn't having an ON day. Bail after bail, but it was still exciting....

So sick to see Christian back on a vert ramp. He was blasting!

Duane Peters killed it before his band played!

I've always been a fan of Brian Howard's smooth and effortless style. Here he ollies the channel to backside smither!

Danny Way was there. He took a few mild runs on Jake Brown's board.

The man with the plan. Darren Navarette throws up a method to fakie. I hope he nabbed that award.

Eddie Reatigui tailblocks the extension.

I had to ask Ed Dominick who this guy was. Ripping so hard on complex inverts both days. East Coaster... Dan Tag, channel hopping eggplant!

Hamnuckle was on the scene. Burnett's pending baby kept him away. And of course a classy shot of Preston.

Brewtality coming soon.

Lots of random heavyweights were milling about. Haslam and Duffy here. I recall seeing Rudy Johnson, Rick Howard, Kristian Svitak, Nick Trapasso, and more.

Jake Brown spins the tailgrab 540.

Grosso tweaked this Smithvert.

Max Schaaf was lighting it up. Highspeed backlip.

Matt Moffat couldn't be stopped. Smith grind. But he had backlipslides over the channel as well as huge seatbelt airs that made Remy proud.

Remy rages through a backside smith grind on the extension.

Nolan Johnson was holding his own with the big boys.

Pat Ngoho started out the day with a barbie doll taped down to the front of his board. Classy backside air.

Robbie Russo took a run here and there. Tailgrab frontside smith grind.

Zarosh was down to skate as always.

Ben Raybourn showed up and blew everyone away. Padless 540's, fakie to fakie 540's, backside 360 judo's over the channel, the bonedrecht, etc....this 16 y/o kid had every veteran in the joint hooting and hollering.

Big tip of the hat to Darren and Lance Conklin along w/ all the bands, Creature, Indy, Vox, Thrasher, etc. It was so incredibly epic!
