I'm not so sure of what it means for US but, if you can all chime in, it would be cool.

Yo Clip! What does it mean for us? Hmmmm. I was eating lunch in Paris today and even though my french isn't fluent I couldn't help noticing how every table around me was in one way or another talking about last night's vice presidential debate. And basically for human beings who live outside of the United States, it's a comedy of errors! I mean the laughter that accompanied the conversations was embarrassing! On the one hand I felt like saying 'I'm an american! I'm not going to sit here let you laugh your heads off at my expense! But the fact is they were all right! I didn't have a leg to stand on because the self interest of the republican party is so transparent that it's like a sitcom made for the world stage of politics! The fact that we can even debate whether or not Sarah Palin is qualified to run is in itself embarrassing. Does Joe Six-Pack America want to protect itself from actually becoming a Global entity in more than just name only? Are we giving up some kind of privilege if we lower ourselves to treating others with dignity and respect? Should we continue to protect ourselves from acknowledging our own double standard when it comes to supporting dictators and practicing torture? I don't think Jesus Christ thought so, so why does someone who really thinks that fossils were put here by God to test our faith think so? If protectionism means choosing to recognize what's convenient and hiding what's ugly under the sofa cushion for the sake of preserving your so called values, where are your values. That's my question!
