I have some Minolta equipment that needs a body a body to inhabit. I really like my wireless flash and dread replacing an entire system.

Post some pics with it! I've been using Nikon kit for years (35mm & digital), going to get a D80 shortly as the Coolpix 8700 isn't really up to long focus stuff. The 8400 is great though, most of the views in my pics were taken with it.

I got a D40 in the end. It's much cuter than the D200
.
In fact it's almost
bijou
girly as if you've huge hands you'd find it uncomfortable. But the quality of construction, ease of use, sophistication and images you get are fantastic for less than £400. It's the first time I've used a Nikon slr since my FE2! The only ting I wish it did was to allow you to use the big rear display as a viewfinder image - having to get your head & eye behind the camera isn't always convenient.
The only long zoom I have that doesn't AF with it appears a bit
soft
anyway, so the saving will definitely have to go someway towards this...
