Okay here we go....
First off, after many unforeseen delays, the split 12" that
Xela and I contributed songs to for Barge Recordings is finally in the hands of fine retailers around the world. I had a good time composing and recording the music and I hope that those interested in this release enjoy it. The illustrations of Xela and I used for the LP artwork are really hilarious and can be viewed
Here. The illustration on my side of the 12" was based on a very white trash high school yearbook photo of me from a long long time ago. Also, I should be getting some copies later this week and will be putting them up for sale at the Blue Collar Web-store.
Secondly, the production for the CD/LP that
Mike Mare and I collaborated on is almost completed. The project is called ¡M.G.R. y Destructo Swarmbots! and the CD is titled "Amigos de la Guitarra". Neurot Recordings will be making this release available to all and we are expecting it to come out in early fall. Providing everyone involved meets their deadlines in a timely fashion. James O'Mara, the designer extraordinaire, showed me the layout last week and he did an amazing job blending my photographs with drawings by
Aaron Turner.
I apologize for implying that I would be playing shows in Europe after ISIS's recent tour there in my last myspace post. It turns out that there was not enough time to be able to stay there and play shows because ISIS is currently writing for our next record and I needed to be back in L.A. to continue with that. As for writing, there is not that much going on with composing music for another M.G.R. record. Basically, I have a stockpile of orphaned ideas that I have set aside so I have something to start with when there is time to work on constructing another M.G.R. release, but now my main focus is to work on ISIS material.
That's about that for now. I'll be sure to keep all informed as to when the M.G.R./Xela splits make it to the web-store and when there is more to report about the "Amigos de la Guitarra" record.
Good day.
