Noel's 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere' (23/02/09)

Spent the day in bed yesterday nursing a bad head. For some reason I watched MTV’s European Top 10. Fuck me, it was painful. Leona Lewis doing Snow Patrol? Ouch! Kings Of Leon doing U2? Ouch! The Killers doing fancy dress? Ouch! Lady Gaga? (I may be showing my age here but who’s Lady Gaga?). It made my teeth hurt! MY TEETH!!

That interview with The Sunday Times fella was great. He was good fun. Not often you can say that about a journalist.

Still in Venice. Leaving shortly. I genuinely have no idea where I’m going. Are we staying in Italy? I hope so. These kids make for amazing gigs.

Wonder how “the shoes” are getting on? I’ll find out soon enough.

Hi Noel: it's not you..... It's the (muzak)! the music sucks so bad on mtv that i could puke!..the decent material is so far and few and in between that its semi-transparent...There is so much good music being held back because of the friggin nit wits engrossed in electronic blurps and bleeps rapping their asses off thinking they have created the finest music since beethoven, not to mention their gutteral and violent lyrics...Hey who the hell is Lady Gaga ...LOL...anyways if you want to feel better take a couple of ibuprofen and knock it back with a beer, it won't take the rap away but it will help with the headache. Sorry to hear about the painful teeth-happened to me once and it's no joke.....I know this may not get to you in time, but if you need to give those gnashers a workout I can do no better than recommend that you check out Corte Sconta-an excellent Venitian restaurant specialising in fish with a great atmosphere and full of locals (always the acid test). Get yourself down the Danielli for a hair of the dog then wander round to calle de Pestrin (Castello) where you will find said establishment.....Fill yer boots!....CY
