Nope!

As long as Timeless and ESP are on the market, Hip Hop will always have a pulse. Not tryin' to brag or anything, but it's simply the truth.

I admit Hip Hop seems to have fallen into a recession along with our economy, but as long as there are hungry and talented MC's in this world, then Rap still has a chance (well at least underground rap.) It seems like money is the only thing that really matters today. I don't blame rapppers for selling out because 9 out of 10 would probably do the same if the situation presented itself. It's just that some artists go too far for money. This recession got some of ya'll actin' crazy! I won't mention any names but, I think you know which "artisits" I'm talking about. Anyway, let me get back to the subject at hand.

I wan't to give much respect to all the real MC's/ rappers/ lyricists/ singers out there doin their thang. I know it isn't easy and I wish the best of luck to everyone. Only the strong survive in this industry and to be successful it takes more than just talent. It takes determination, a never say die attitude, and the will to take what is yours. Nothing is easy in this world, although our beats can definatlly help you make a couple short cuts on the way to your destination. In the end we can all break bread!

With our production and your talents combined, we can make a change in Hip Hop. And I guess we'll just have to pray and leave the economy to Obama. God bless American and the rest of the world. Hip Hop lives through us!

Hip hop is not dead but its not at its strongest point. The real hip hop was back in the day when new york rappers and west coast rapper were the definiton of hip hop and gangsta rap. Biggie was by far the best lyrical rapper and 2pac was the best thug and ghetto rapper. But fresh new talent is developing in the industry with all different styles of hip hop. Rap will never die but it will never be the same as it was in the past.

HipHop has been dead since the advent of commercial Gangsta Rap, circa 1991. Rap, Gangsta Rap, New York Rap began taking over and taking the fun out of it, because lets just face it, I am tired of hearing about everybody else's excessive wealth, hoes, jewels, cars, and mansions. HipHop was an expression, like Jazz, of realities good and bad within the black community, giving social relevance and potential change. Rap was really the glorification of one long ass black exploitation movie that spilled into real life. You never had HipHop rappers shooting and killing each other in staged stunts or non camraderie on and off stage until the NWA years. Rap also took another casulty, called R&B, down with it because the lack of real instrumentation and wanna bee singers singing over jingle bell rap beats has killed that genre. R.Kelly declares himself an R&B Thug - what is wrong with that? Crooners were about love and getting some. A Thug is about straight up fucking, violence, weed, and a host of other bad behaviors. We are to the point, at least here in Chicago where cats cant even do real hiphop because the wanna be rappers come out and shoot the place up.
But I digress...HipHop is dead because you have two types of HipHoppers - the black conscious whitey did all of this to me types and the ones who rap over samples and try to pick a light hearted argument to spill about that has no social relevance at all. People are tired of all the same old shit. Sampling killed the game. Gangsters killed the game. Now its up to the talented to keep it rolling.
I felt that and agree with you Hip Hop is hurting becuz its trapped in commercialism so main
stream artist have forgotten why it was created and they ignore the essence. Ive always
believed in a happy medium and thats what im about. Lets take it to the top.
