New York, NY (February 20, 2008) – Fresh from his 2008 Hip-Hop Presidential campaign, rap stalwart MURS is launching a new remix contest presented exclusively by Warner Bros. Records, Loud.com (www.loud.com) and Zune (www.zune.net). In this contest, Murs is looking for the most talented up-and-coming producer to remix  “Everything,” MURS’ latest single off his Murs For President LP.

Producers lobbying to be heard can download the “Everything” acapella from Murs’ website and upload their new version to the contest page on Loud.com. A grand prize winner will receive a special edition MURS Zune player loaded with MURS’ favorite songs, 1 pair of tickets to MURS’ Paid Dues Festival this spring/summer and a $50 gift code, good for merchandise at MURS’ www.mursmusic.com/store online store. The winner will also be interviewed by Loud.com for a featured “producer’s profile” to run on the Loud.com’s website.

One second-place winner will receive a add to MURS’ Top Friends on MySpace, a $25 Gift Code to his Merch Store and a Blue MURS Zune.  One third-place winner will get an add to MURS’ Top Friends on MySpace and a $25 Gift Code to his Merch Store.

Six albums deep, including timeless collaborations with renowned producer 9th Wonder, Murs has become one of hip-hop’s most notable success stories.  The former member of the Living Legends crew is one of the only rappers to organize and perform at his own music festival, Paid Dues.  In October 2008, Spin Magazine called Murs “Barack O’Drama---the rap game’s agent of change” and also said that his latest album Murs For President is “a cumulative bang that’s impossible to deny”.

2.    Create a producer profile at Loud.com
3.    Upload your new version titled “ProducerName_MURS_Everything_Remix” to the contest page on Loud.com.
4.    Entries will be accepted from 12:00am EST February 16, 2009 until 11:59pm EST March 29, 2009.  A winner will be announced on April 13, 2009
 

As a man by the people and for the people, MURS will be ensuring everyone gets a fair shot to be heard in this contest.  Submissions will not be subject to a voting system for chart position, and instead, posted in the order they are uploaded to Loud.com for all to see.  Loud.com will review each submission and decide on a Top 10, from which Warner Bros. will determine a winner.
