Eric Medlen was one of the up and coming stars of the high profile world of NHRA drag racing.  Having filled the dream shoes of driving for the legendary driver John Force, Medlen was doing exactly what he loved, and he knew the risks associated with Driving an 8000 horse power machine fueled by nitromethane.  Eric Died today after a testing accident in Gainesville Florida on Monday.  He was 33.  I never knew him, though i saw him in 04 at the us nats in indy.  He was one of the future stars of the sport.  It seems like every year or two, god reminds us that we need to remember how fragile we are.  Darrell Russell in 05, and Now Eric.  I take comfort knowing that he went out doing what he loved, but i still feel cheated, we'll not see him eclipse forces 14 world titles.  I can't help but wonder how john force feels, and more importantly, what will happen this weekend.  My heart goes out to the medlen family, john force racing, and all the fans, who feel like they lost a close friend.
