"Next up are the hugely anticipated The Continuous Battle Of Order. For the uninitiated, The Continuous Battle of Order is what happens when two cracking artists decide to stick together and create loud hypnotic math-rock. The two geniuses in question being ex-We Are Knives men Hornby and Craig Kearney. Guitarist Hornby quickly begins building with his riffs and samples, creating an ethereal and, at times, almost unintelligible atmosphere. Meanwhile, drummer Craig finesses the creation process with subtle crashes and featherlight beats.
And then, following a brief glance at each other, they kick off into the chaos and somehow, with brutal clarity, it all makes sense. Hornby is hitting the guitar strings, all the while shaking his head like a maniac. He looks like he’s gonna fall or faint, whilst Craig exhibits his expertise with intelligent, fast and ever changing drums. They fill the stage with magic, chaos and noise, turning the Spring & Airbrake into a beautiful and intense bedlam."

"In only their third ever appearance, the anticaption awaiting The Continuous Battle Of Order
weighed heavily in the air. Originally founding members of the highly regarded and hugely
respected We Are Knives, few knew what to expect from TCBOO, including this writer.
The stage was set up with guitarist Hornby facing the drumkit on a chair with a catalogue of
effects and loop pedals separating him from the tubs. In probably the loudest moments ever
heard at the Spring & Airbrake, TCBOO smashed the venue into uproar with a post rock punch in
the face. Toying with time in ways that would make Einstein blush, while brandishing frenetic
melodies that teetered into anthemic dance before pouring back into blistering rock, the band
announced their arrival with a biblical bang. Hornby's hands flew around his now fabled telecaster
guitar, as drummer Craig equalled him in the technical stakes with a lesson in drumming and
originality for most tub-tumpers out there.
"But I digress. Craig and Hornby, performing as The Continuous Battle Of Order, incendiary,
to say the least. LOUD. Savage, harsh drumming from Craig, the trademark pummelling of skins
that gives the WAK numbers their punchiness and as for Hornby on guitar well hell, I don’t know
what to say except all the killer nips and licks I know so well condensed into a constantly
churning, maw of noise. It was their debut gig as TCBOO and all I can say is that of the two WAK
sideprojects (the other being The Misaligned Men Of Automaton) I am leaning toward this one
at the moment!
Hornby stepped in with bass and I dunno how he could know the songs unless he’d rehearsed or he’s a fucking awesome improviser but all I can say is WOW."
