Current mood: hopeful
Greetings from Pennsylvania!
Well, I realized that I had been remiss in telling everyone where I was going and what I will be up to this winter. Life has been very hectic and full lately. Lots of lovely visitors have come to NYC and see my show. It has been so great! And I have been busy moving from my sublet in Jackson Heights to the super-cool neighborhood Astoria in Queens.
I am currently in Bristol, PA, which they tell me is only 20-30 minutes from Philly. I am certainly hoping to get down to Philly during my stay here .. it sounds like a very cool place to be. I am rehearsing The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge by Mark Brown for the Bristol riverside Theatre..some of you have seen me play Christmas Past in this show two years ago at Orlando Shakes. Mark was sweet enough to recommend me for the part and I auditioned for it around the first week of October. I was floored to actually get it though.. I didn..t quite believe that I would be heading off to PA to do a play! Anyway, I like the town and the cast is very kind .. the whole thing reminds me of being in Lenox, MA for the winter when I was at Shakespeare & Company. It is very cold, but the trees are gorgeous and the town is quaint. We open 11/14 and run ..til 12/10, so I will be out of NYC for a while... I might get a little lonely so feel free to call or write! I suppose I will try to take advantage of the quiet to journal and think and read..
I am actually splitting time this weekend between PA and my show back in NYC. We close on Sunday 10/29 and I will be very sad to see this cast go. They ushered me through my first NYC show and I have made a very dear friend in Margaret, who plays our Octoroon. If any of you can make it to see the last weekend of shows, I would love to see you. We play Thurs .. Sat at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm at the Metropolitan Playhouse in the East Village.
I hope you are all lovely and happy in your endeavors!
All my best,
Sarah
