Welcome friends!
I have come to tell you that DBRP is officially going into hibernation from live shows to write a new album.
I will post a few demos as we go so our fans and friends can see our progress. This is a difficult decision because it unfortunately means we have CANCELED our Halloween gig at the Mix. I am as unhappy about this as anyone can imagine. As I write this post, I am imagining playing the show in front of you all with much joy! However, I am too aware that there is too much going on within the band to give you the killer show you all deserve and that I know I can give you. The songs from "Songs to Bleed to" deserve more, too.
This is not a normal route for a band to take when writing a new album. Most bands will write new material as they go and introduce some of them at shows leading up to their absence for recording and mixing. This is impossible in the case of Deathbed Repentance. All of the members have too much going on in their lives to keep up a schedule of rehearsals involving intense creative passion in songwriting, maintain a show schedule in town and the region, and keep up with financing 2 or 3 tours a year all at once. This takes money. A lot of money. Money we just don't have. I am taking this opportunity to fulfill this critical need and fill the Deathbed piggy bank to make the DBRP return that much bigger, scarier, heavier, louder, better than anything you've ever seen!
Return often and leave comments for us to keep us motivated and our return will be swift and powerful! You will see me around town during this time and I encourage you all to ask me how the new album is coming. This will also keep me motivated and focused. And perhaps even feed me material for the songs! I have several ideas already not only for songs but for the live show! How it will change, how it will look and the experience our fans will have in the future will be uncomparable to shows past.
We certainly have some copies of "Songs to Bleed to" left, somewhere in the area of 250 out of 1000. I would be very pleased to sell one to you or a friend for half-price. If you don't know how to get a hold of me, go to myspace.com/sangedesade and we will make it happen. We also have lots of t-shirts that will not go out of date, therefore we must continue selling these for full price. There is still just as much value in these as ever, in fact more! Nothing would show us you care and eagerly await our return more than wearing our shirt around town! If you don't have either of these items, be sure to go to CDBaby.com and load up on the swag!
Well I must thank everyone for coming to the shows and supporting us. You have made all my hard work and sacrifice worthwhile and I can't wait to do it again. Stick around and be patient. This next round will be quite more exciting and infinitely huge in every way. After all, I am still the Blood of the Marquis.
