Al Lorraine diary Mai (or April?)
Thought I might write something about what we..ve been up to the last couple of weeks, besides getting a tan. First worth mentioning, we were fortunate enough to be invited to the "International Documentary Film Festival In Volda"(I.O.P.Q.L.W.W.I.K.V.N.O), to entertain the film people and students after they had all done what they do (check out the super-cool-low-budget-crappy-sound-video from the soundcheck). The crowd was in good shape, considering they had all been watching footage of a man "loved" to death by a horse, a film about black metal and church torching, an educational one about the Norwegian Postal Service, a film about a man who married his deaf and blind mum and other mentally disturbing pieces of film. We did a pretty damned good set that night, and everybody had a whole lotta fun. We had a superb time in the dressing room, thanks to a very big p.a system stacked in a corner with Knuts (thanks man) Ipod, containing exclusively hard rock ala Metallica, Guns..N, Hendrix and more playing all night! We got quite drunk and pretty much forgot the 7am departure the following (crap?) morning.
Next on the agenda, the high mountains. We played the May1
st Festival in Hemsedal, Norway. Pretty interesting consept, if you see what I mean.. A huge stage in a ski slope and thousands of ski and music lovers, tons of alcohol and a couple of bands. We played an uptempo set and had loads of fun. We also caught Ida Maria and Co in action, which was a pleasant and rowdy experience, as always!
We also moved house this month, our roomy Mucho Perfecto space by the sea in the middle of town is beeing demolished, and replaced by a tiny not so perfect, no windows but beer-vending machine and amazing view, room outside town. We..re rehearsing for the nest shows at the moment and finalizing the mix of "Tell It All" with "King" Dave Bascombe in Townhouse studios, London. We will do a small gig in RAK studios, also in London (see it in Arctic Monkeys; Teddy Picker) the 11
th of June. There we..ll play a small set, containing new and old songs for a few fans. Hope to see you there, or in the Barfly in Camden the 10th or Blå in Oslo the 12th!
