Who Gives Kudos:

Saturday, December 06, 2008

I decided that we definitely need to have a tree this year... and I definitely wanted to make it myself.

I started yesterday by quickly gathering branches. I shoved them in a bottle with coins as weight and started twisting stringed beads around each branch. I cut the bead strings from a beaded curtain I had no use for.

Today my Mom asked me to move it so she could get to the water softener. I broke half the branches in the process. gah. craft hate. I managed to fix it up again and started hanging the lights. I had planned to have the lights going up the wall but it looked to detached. I almost took down the blue lights in my room to put up here..but decided that was too much work.

The lights are still on the wall but somewhat tangled with the tree.. I might tangle it more. not sure.. I'd like the lights to be completely tangled on the tree but I'm afraid the dry thin branches won't hold.

we'll see. I plan to make light tiny decorations out of bottle caps or beads or something..stay tuned.

Sarah Jean-
I absolutely LOVE your Christmas tree! It's better than a regular old christmas tree because you made it :)
