Tenor saxophonist Erica Lindsay wails in the open, unfettered fashion of the late freebopper Dewey Redman at this gig in upstate New York. Accompanied by the kinetic, swinging pulse of drummer Bob Braye, the harmonically provocative pianist Francesca Tanksley and bassist Otto Gardner, Lindsay lights it up on the urgent title track, the cooker “Dance of the Elves” and the modal “Gotta Get to It.” Elsewhere, she blows with elegance and grace on the introspective “Dusk-Fall” and the mesmerizing “Night of Roses.”

2.  Lee Shaw New CD "Blossom" (ARC-2086)

Following upon her critically acclaimed "Live in Graz" (ARC-2062), Lee Shaw is finishing up the logistical details required to put out a new Lee Shaw trio cd called "Blossom" (ARC-2086).  The cd is already edited and will be mixed & mastered at the end of next week.  They hope to get it to the pressing plant the last week of April or 1st week of May. 

Please note that Journalist/Reviewer and Radio Programmer request for media copies of "Blossom" (ARC-2086) are invited.  Also, Lee takes her trio back to Europe for a tour and recording with some German musicians on May 26 - June 9.  They'll be in Germany mostly, with one gig in Austria.
