I am Amazed when I wake up each day. A day of new things to accomplish! Excercise, practice my piano, sing and write new songs...go into worship. Yes, I wake up quite early!

These are my priorities as well as lots of laughter and not dwelling on things I cannot control. Most days I listened to a song entitled, "Amazing Love". My baby boy Kelley shared this worship song with me and it blesses me each time I hear it.

I am amazed that I live in a time when the President I voted for will take time to read 10 letters and respond to them but I know of many church leaders with less than 10k members and cannot seem to return calls or answer letters or emails because he/she is just so busy. Makes me wonder if they really do love all the poeple they are called to serve. Our President is a great leader because he serves. He volunteers. He takes time to listen. He admits he is not perfect and lets us see his weaknesses. The day I saw him cry was an amazing day. It reminded me of my Dad. Monroe Ellis Patterson. I thought he was invinceable until the day I looked in his face an watched as the tears rolled down. I was a little girl but I have never, ever forgotten that moment and how it changed me, helped me understand love.
There are times when love gets so full it spills over in tears, in generosity, in adoration, in duty, in deed and in truth. Love speaks in the tumultuous storms of our lives. It seems to come over you like a beach wave. Covering and hovering.

Love is imminent in my world. It is the most important thing. A smile is Universal(yet another element of thought from my youngest). People who love don't lie. They salvage each moment and they are content to be with you without words or touching as along as you are there. People who love don't force...they wait without tapping their foot. They just wait.

Love will make you walk when your car is broken. Love will make you push yourself more and not be lazy. Love will not allow you to blame anyone or anything. Love will allow you time to think and breathe and yes, exhale. Love will give until it dies from giving. Love will hold out it's generous hand and say take all that is here, I want you to have it. I am Amazed how love shows up simple and humble and never turns away. I am Amazed by love.
