Current mood:  jolly
Several lifetimes ago, Steve was an enthusiastic member of Datchet Morris Men (now Datchet Border Morris). Datchet being near Staines, he has always held 'STAINES MORRIS' in great affection. Ten minutes of noodling the tune in Kim's direction resulted in the recording here.

It was also in those days of long-ago that he heard 'LORD FRANKLIN' (AKA 'Lady Franklin's Lament') performed in Uxbridge Folk Club, and subsequently learned it by a process of osmosis and race-memory (AKA CD's and the internet).

'BILLY TAYLOR' is an everyday tale about a young woman following her forcibly-conscripted sailor boyfriend off to sea. Their eventual reunion is marked by the act of her shooting him like vermin.
Sung by Kim, this toe-tapper is the jolliest song in the Corncrow repertoire.
