I shared a stage at The Woods recently with some of the nicest folks I have ever met (Rachel Taylor Brown, Ben Landsverk, Jon Sands, and Lewi Longmire) and got more than I bargained for out of it. While I got the satisfaction of having played a good show to an appreciative audience (which is something I always hope for when playing any show), I also got to do a bit of collaborating due to the shared stage (which is rare for me and was just too rewarding to even go into). Then there's the fact that I was asked to open a show next week for the amazing Lewi Longmire. I'm looking really forward to playing at the Laurelthirst. I haven't played there in years and only have vague memories of the open mic's that I attended in the past. The place is a genuine Portland institution, and this show is part of a month long series in honor of the venue's 21 years in business. It's also really thrilling to be opening up for one of Portland's most honest, and soulful veteran singer/songwriters. Did I mention I'm really looking forward to it? Hope to see you there.
