The life of a fish is a mysterious thing. One second, you are in a tank with all your buddies and enemies cavorting on how to over throw the bigger fish in the tank, eat as much food as you can in a short span of time (I'm am told fish will eat until they explode) and trying to spread your fish seed to who ever puckers up and the next you are tossed into a bag and brought to tank to make your own. It's a time of growth, learning what you like, where you like to put things, what you like to eat, where you like to make your bed ... this list is infinite.
Tonight I came home and Paulie was dead. I call him (i never took a close look... it's rude) Paulie because it's just seemed right. The two and a half years in which he called my kitchen home has come to a tragic end yet expected (at some point) end.
Given " Fishshwitz's" history, it was only a matter of time. Paulie was a loved fish who out lived many of his brethren. Some even went so far to say HE was the one killing them off, but I didn't believe those lies. Paulie spent many a BBQ hanging out in the kitchen, drinking with the crowd, always ready to go out and grab something if we were short, he was a thought little guy.

I will always remember him fondly and he will be missed. To celebrate his life, I am going out for Sushi...... to you my fishy friend, my you rest in peace.
