some artwork from an 8 page short story i just finished.
went
for a looser approach and tried to keep the brushstrokes quite loose.
this is also the first time i transformed the finished rough pencil
artwork to a light non-print blue and inked it afterwards.
(in the
popupwindow where you can change the colortone/saturation click the
colorize option and change the settings to color 200 and
saturation+brightness to 75)
i then work with the inks straight on
the printed out paper not having to worry about mistakes. the light
blue won't show up after scanning.
works a bit better then my ikea lightbox table. LOL

for the
lettering i used just kanji. i checked some online dictionary and used
what i thought would be right. it probably is read like some badly
translated manual which is exactly what i wanted it to be.
i loved
watching foreign cartoonshows as a kid even so i couldn't understand
what the fuck they were talking about. it had something very special.
even
now i hate to watch samurai/kung fu flicks in german or english . they
just work in their original language with subtitles.
tried to use that feeling for my comic

Tales
of Dead Earth is the equivalent of a short, fast grindcore song about a
female flash gordon in an post apocalyptic world. its fast and brutal
as hell, you can't make out the lyrics.
tools: pencil, pentel gfkp brush pen, digital colors in PS, wacom
getting my new tattoo finished later. :)
