LINDSAY:

Hello, friends - welcome to Moochowski at MySpace.

I'm Lindsay* Pollock - 25 years old, brown hair, brown eyes, brown cardigan. I was born, bred (and apparently destined to molder, shrivel & ultimately die) in Stoke Newington, Hackney.

Stoke Newington is really hip these days - brilliant. Yeah, really bloody brilliant. Let me tell you - I was here first. Now because it's so bloody hip I can't actually afford to rent here. I live with my dad - I've been in the same bedroom for twenty three years. Thanks a bunch for all moving to Stoke Newington, assholes. You admen, you journos, you fashionistas and blank eyed collaborators - go away. I can't afford a flat with you all here.

I'm just kidding. I'm actually still here with my dad because

1] He's a good and kind man who lets me stay - rent free!

2] I'm allergic to jobs

Yeah, I guess it's fair to say I'm still trying to put my life together. It's tough these days, living as we do in a post-apocalyptic future hell-scape. I make films and write cartoons - but so do a lot of people, and it's competitive out there.

I'm freelance - I don't want to work for the man. I bloody, bloody hate 90....% contemporary culture** and am disgusted by the unthinking crapweasels who crank levers at the media slurry factory. The advertising, film, TV, music and publishing industries... disappoint me.

Oh, alright - they disgust me, repel me, make me want to peel my face off or crush my brain in my fist just so I don't have to contemplate the sheer, brute banality of so much of our shared popular cultureaaaaaaaargh.

Anyway, that's a tangent that can wait. I'm here to tell you about this site.

Well, last year me and my good friend Tom Brass (who I met at film school) finally got a long cherished project off the ground - a comic book called 'Moochowski'.

It is, I guess, the fruit of our frustrated film-making desires. After we left college*** it quickly dawned on us that nobody was ever going to give us any money to make the films we wanted. After a spell of disillusion, we suddenly realised that a comic was the brilliant answer to our problems. We could tell our tales for the price of paper, pencils and pens without having to answer to anybody else. HUZZAH!

Well, it turned out to be bloody hard work, and not actually as cheap as you might imagine.

However, 'Moochowski' comic is now up and running - and here at 'Moochowski at MySpace' you'll be able to keep up with our progress and adventures.

THRILL! As we tour comic-book conventions and dish the dirt on the nerdy underbelly of the contemporary comic scene. Oh - and the nerdy overbelly, too.

LAUGH! As we share with you the torturous labour-pains of our creative endeavours. Moochowski is produced largely in my bedroom, and we often get profoundly pissed off with eachother... with hilarious consequences! Which we'll be sharing with you in gently amusing anecdotal riffs! Tom's a laid-back, hirsute jazz lover with punctuality issues. I'm a neurotic, misanthropic, tic-ridden minimal techno junkie with a pathalogical obsession for solitude, tidiness and none of my things to be touched by anyone, ever. Yep, we're the original odd couple!

EMPATHISE! As our comic gets rejected by publisher after publisher.

Watch this space, and please feel free to get in touch any time.

*despite this name, I'm a boy. A strapping, hairy chested man

**I bloody, bloody hate a tremendous amount of stuff, actually. It's one of my fundamental pastimes. So if you enjoy reading fevered, bilious rants then please - watch this space. Because I'm always pissed off about something, and that's a promise.

***LCP, now LCC - Hello, Class of 2002! Or was it 2003? I can't remember now. Bloody college - how the hell am I ever going to pay back my loan?

..

Tom -

I always find it difficult following..long..passages of Lindsay's acrid..prose...

So here's a list of people and things I..like and am inspired by, and am in love with. In no particular order:

6/8 time, George Gershwin, T S Elliot, Venice, Maya Deren, Berenice Abbot, Tintoretto, smelly cheese, girls who wear glasses or stockings - ideally both, patti smith, television (the band, rarely the medium, despite keeping a roof over my head), roland kirk, Jimmy yancy, Alice Coltrane, Bill Evans, WB Yeats, Huey Newton, Peter Cook, Brian Eno, brown cardigans, having a beard, going grey, tweed trousers, leather shoes, slim brimmed hats, Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield, Gary Bartz, Esther Phillips, pulp science fiction, french food, fingerless gloves, scarves, the colour yellow, Vaughn Williams, William De Vaughn, Welsh cakes, Carol King, the smell of charity shop vinyl, the way women dressed in the forties.
