What is your name?

Cristina

How long have you worked here?

1 year and 2 months

What is your job title?

Custom Engraver

What do you like best about your job?

That I get to be myself (loud, offensive and obnoxious) and no one is gets disgusted here!  Everyone is really cool and can have a good time and joke around. It’s a party everyday.

What do you like the least?

That I have to leave my house 40 minutes early to get to work on time. I am not a morning person.

What did you fear most about working for a Marine Corps related company?

That if I messed something up, Grit was going to rush in, cuss me out, and make me do push ups.

What have you learned while working here?

I have learned all kinds of things about the Corps that I had no idea about. One of the first things I remember learning is what Semper Fidelis meant. I had always seen it throughout the years on cars, shirts, and things like that but didn’t have any idea what it meant or what is it.

What is your favorite item we carry?

It’s for sure the Marine Corps Hip Hop Cadence Vol. 1 CD. That item…..is official.

Tell me about a memorable moment or story.

It was my first couple of weeks working at Sgt. Grit and I was hired as a packer in the warehouse. They were needing the packers to help build a large shelves to add in the warehouse. So it was MATT, GERALD, 2 other guys, and myself. By the way, I’m 5”2” on a good day and we needed people to get up on the first level of the shelf to add more levels to it. Only one guy volunteered to get up there and guess who else had to get up there ‘cause others were scared of heights and all these other shenanigans? ME! It was a Friday and about 10 minutes ‘til we all got off of work, I was not wanting to BS around after 5p on a Friday so I got up there and knocked it out. I did not have time for the “ladies” to figure out who was going help out the other guy.  : )

Do you think you could have ever been a Marine?

No.
