Just listened to Rock n' Roll Monkey and the Robots "Detroit Trauma" CD – Fun stuff! I heard this band on WNYC FM on 89.1 (which is also WFDU) Punky for sure, but adds a lot to the mix poking fun at icons Jack Kerouac and James Dean for starters. With a touch of gum at times like the Ohio Express with a fuzz box and that's a good thing! (Also to note: not to be confused with the Ohio Players). Some of the songs sound like they would have fit well with the on Rolling Stones "Goats Head Soup". There's a short track towards the end of the CD "I'm a Gerbil" which of course no punk rock CD can be complete without mentioned gerbils and or Richard Gere. I know I heard Chili Dogs mentioned to so I guess I'll go grab a bite to eat now.
