About two weeks ago we started recording the new EP. As with our demo, we'll be recording the whole thing at home. The last one was recorded in the upstairs apartment, with everyone playing together in the emptied living/dining room. This one, we're doing in the basement practice space. It's a strange space with low-ceilings, but it seems to be going well so far. We've had particularly good luck with placing microphones in the side-rooms down there. As we are recording many of the parts separately, we've been using these distance/room mics on everything in order to give the songs the kind of cohesive quality that comes from everyone playing together in a room.
