Here is the official statement from the band when they decided to end Onsetcold and move on to pastures new.

"Onsetcold is no more.

Onsetcold was formed in 2004, and in March 2008 we released our self-titled album. Shortly before the release of the album, vocalist Shaq left the band due to personal problems. The rest of us decided to keep going and we found a replacement, Matt.

We've had a great time with Onsetcold - made some heavy as fuck music and played some awesome shows.

Unfortunately, we have just discovered that Shaq still had access to the band's myspace and email accounts - and he has now changed all the passwords. All of our new tracks have been deleted, along with photos from the shows we've played and with the friends we've met. As you can imagine, this is very disappointing to us.

We have had an email from Shaq (after he did this) stating that he believes the name Onsetcold belongs to him and telling us what we 'can and cannot do'. We refute in the strongest possible terms any claim he makes that the songs on our album were written by him as that is simply not the case.

However, we have decided that we wish to close the chapter of our band as Onsetcold and get on with our lives without Shaq's interference. The four of us will continue to write, rehearse, perform and record together under the new name "Colonel Blast"."

Cheers for taking the time to read this. Shaq has continued to use the Onsetcold name for his own gains, this isn't the Onsetcold you have come to know over the past year and will be something we, as the surviving members after he left, feel will just drive the reputation we strived to achieve into the ground.

We realise that a lot of the people who listen to the band will have no idea that this has happened and will continue to listen over at the old myspace page. Over time we will be trying to get back in touch with some of the cool people we have met over the last few years and hopefully you will join us over here for more proper fucking metal :)
