Before my wedding took over my life, I wrote a rant about Cesar Milan. I was far from done, btw. There's so much more I could say about him and his practices. But instead, I've decided to let you read what the experts have to say...
Veterinary Forum: "The Trouble with being the Alpha Dog" (.pdf)
Comparing Cesar Millan to Dr. Ian Dunbar
Dr. Andrew Luescher's review to National Geographic
Review of the Dog Whisperer tv program written by the man I studied under at Purdue... :)
American Humane Association: Millan Does More Harm than Good
Jean Donaldson, Director of The SF/SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers
Talk Softly and Carry a Carrot or a Big Stick?
Steve Dale, host of syndicated radio programs Steve Dale's Pet World, The Pet Minute with Steve Dale; and Pet Central, at WGN Radio, Chicago.
Pat Miller of The Bark Magazine
Review of "Cesar's Way"
As if that wasn't enough convincing, I have more.
The common thread between most (if not all) of these articles is that the authors are highly educated professionals who have been doing this as long if not longer than Cesar himself. Hmmmm. Food for thought I say.
I will leave with you one more article about choosing a trainer... taken from probably THE most respected publication on animal behavior...
Journal of Veterinary Behavior: "Good Trainers: How to identify one and why this is important to your practice of veterinary medicine "
