A bit about Peter

Raised in a family of "harmony junkies" in Birmingham, Alabama, Peter Adams earned his BA in Music at the University Of The South, in bustling Sewanee, Tennessee. Then he picked up an MA from University Of Alabama School of Music (a mere 233 miles away in Tuscaloosa).

Fast forward to 1999. Peter met Virginian-turned-Angelino Kat Maslich. Their voices blended and their songwriting styles meshed into "haunted mountain music with modern beats." As eastmountainsouth, the duo sold more than 50,000 copies of their self-titled Dreamworks debut.

Although eastmountainsouth is no more, Mr. Adams continues to grace us with his lush, full sound. Peter's MySpace page says he plays "alt-folk-rock-americana-ish drone pop." While I share his proclivity for hyphen abuse, I have no idea what that means. :)
