If your band is booked at The Parlor, here is some important info:
SO I HAVE CONFIRMED A DATE WITH YOU AT THE PARLOR:
now it is up to you to find a second act (and third if a saturday) to add to the bill--
-- find a band that has some sort of draw, that would go well with your band, a band that maybe shares the same fans/friends (think "what would make a kick-ass show?")
-SORRY BUT DON'T BOOK A DJ, OR LAPTOP BAND
(we'd rather just have your band for the night if you can't find a second act to add)-it's nothing personal, laptop bands and djs just don't go over well at the parlor and unless you plan on filling the place with 30 booty dancers it is pointless.
(only under certain circumstances will we have 3 or 4 band shows on weekday nights)
BAND SET TIMES:
Music can start as early as 9pm- has to be over by 11:30pm on weekdays (music over by 12:30 on SATURDAYS)
SUNDAY SHOWS START at 8pm and need to be over by 10:30pm
THE MAXIMUM TIME ANY BAND CAN PLAY IS 50minutes********
Bands play for tips (we provide a band tip jar, but it is up to you to put it out/ask for tips/or have a friend walk around to try and get people to tip).
**Feel free to put on your flyers for the show "No Cover (bring tips for the band)" or something like that.**
Each band member gets 2 free drinks (including beer (LONE STAR ONLY), soda, or coffee), and each band gets a free pizza (size depending on the number of band members).
Discounts: 50cents off all beers, 10% off food, half-off on soda & coffee,
$1.50 LONE START PINTS all night for band members only.

THE PARLOR PROVIDES THE PA------ BUT Bands need to bring their own MICS & CORDS (we have some crappy back-ups, but if they get broken by your band we will expect you to pay for them).

DO NOT ASSUME THAT IT IS OKAY TO ADD A BAND TO THE BILL LAST MINUTE-- THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF BANDS WE CAN HAVE PER NIGHT AT THE PARLOR IS 2 (on Weekdays & Sunday) or 3 on Saturdays-- And these bands need to be confirmed with me at least 1week before the show.
(only under special circumstances will we have 3 or 4 band shows on weeknights)
*** If you want your band to get booked again at the parlor, PLEASE PUT UP FLIERS FOR YOUR SHOW.
It's not much to ask, we just want you to put up at least 5 black & white fliers (they don't have to be full color- we know those are expensive). Just put them up inside the parlor to let people know about your show.
*** THE PARLOR DOES NOT HAVE A BUILT IN CROWD*** If you don't have at least 5 friends that will show up to see your band play, it probably isn't a good idea to try and book a show with us. If you aren't able to bring or have at least 5 people to watch your band, PLEASE DON'T ask for another show (unless you truely think that you can promote the show better and have more people show up).
***One of the main reasons for us to have LIVE MUSIC is to bring in more business during the late hours*** MEANING, AGAIN, IF YOU DON'T TELL PEOPLE TO COME TO SEE YOUR BAND PLAY, YOU DON'T PUT UP FLIERS, AND YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS or FANS, IT IS PRETTY POINTLESS TO ASK FOR A SHOW HERE (try an open mic instead).
***ONE LAST THING----- PLEASE DON'T PLAY ANY OTHER AUSTIN SHOWS WITHIN ONE WEEK BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR PARLOR SHOW-----I don't care what anyone says, it just isn't a good idea to play more than one show in the same week in the same city-- again, I don't think anyone has enough friends or fans that want to see you play a show every week.
