Congratulations, Carrie, on being named the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards Top Female Vocalist!

Growing up in Oklahoma, Carrie Underwood used to watch the Grand Ole Opry at her grandparents' house. Now, just three years after her career began, she's officially a member of the Opry — and it's a dream come true for the country superstar. Congratulations, Carrie!

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Carrie Underwood's newest music video, "Last Name," which features quite a few wedding chapel scenes featuring "Elvis." Johnny Thompson is one of the premier Elvis impersonators and is starring as Elvis in "Last Name." On Wednesday, June 4, 2008, country music stars (including Carrie Underwood) took the field at Greer Stadium in Nashville, TN, to participate in City of Hope's 18th Annual Nashville Celebrity Softball Challenge. Carrie's Opry Live team lost to The After MidNite with Blair Garner team for the first time in 3 years. The final score was 8-1, but it looked like a good time was had by all!

Carrie recently spent some time with Lon Helton co-hosting radio's Country Countdown USA. The interview was fantastic and, in very exciting news, Carrie talked about her dog Ace's fan club (which is operated by the same people as CarrieNEWS.com!) Carrie has added several months of concert dates to her Carnival Ride tour. Little Big Town will open the shows beginning Sept. 23 in Cleveland, Ohio, and concluding Dec. 14 in Gainesville, Fla. Carrie has already performed for almost 600,000 fans so far this year. The current leg of her tour concludes June 24 in New Orleans although she will perform at select fairs and festivals this summer,

Nintendo is making Metallic Rose a regular part of the Nintendo DS™ color palette with the help of some celebrity spokespeople. America Ferrera and Carrie Underwood are being featured in commercials for the Metallic Rose version of Nintendo DS.
