The more and more I surf myspace I am beginning to realize that it is just one big online Mens Magazine!  What really bothers me is that when you sign up for myspace, they falsely state that they don't allow this "stuff", so you sign up thinking that you are going to be in a community where you don't have to worry about seeing or being subjected to rude, lewd material.  I think myspace is a great tool for networking and meeting new people and I don't want to cancel my account, but the obscene content seems to be more and more prevalent each day!  But, until more people speak up, it will continue to occur and unfortunately that is what is wrong with not only myspace but the world in general today!

Don't think me a prude, because I am not...I just think that women are thought of for one thing and one thing only...young girls growing up today don't have much of a future to look forward to if things keep going the way they are going...People in general don't respect women the way they should and this has a devastating backlash on society as a whole.  Little boys grow up seeing woman portrayed as nothing more than objects that are used in advertising content for the big bucks because as you know and have heard, "sex sells"...followed by "what are you going to do about it", as if, that's it, nothing can be done and nothing should be done about it,  "just accept it"...well that's okay until someone's daughter is raped because of the way society "accepts" this negative view of women and what their role is in the world.  Even today's young girls don't have much respect for themselves, walking around half clothed because they see through media that many woman get their "Worth", their "Value" by parading themselves in a not so modest way.  It's a sad thought that a lot of girls think that they have to pull a "Paris Hilton" to make it in the world today.  I don't see anything wrong with a little tasteful showing of sexuality and I am not saying that woman should not show their femininity, it's just that more explicit exhibitions should be left to more intimate moments in privacy and not out in the public eye.  I guess what I am trying to say is that we give our kids the wrong idea of what women are for and what sex is for when we use the two everyday to sell a product!  It demeans women and puts a dollar value on an act that should be a priceless personal moment between two loving individuals!  Maybe if more Fathers of Daughters would change their way of thinking...not ogle over the barely clothed female all lathered up washing a car with her body in a TV commercial...(well at least in front of their impressionable young kids)...or not idolize a celebrity because she is "Hot", but rather  point out that she is a very talented actress or singer instead...giving them a "worth" because of what they have accomplished through hard work and not just because of their good genes!  I wish all the Fathers would step up to change the way the world is headed...if for nothing else, but the healthy future of their daughters!
