Okay, So I just found out I won the Bob Dylan covers contest for my version of "You Angel You". I entered on a whim. Nothing to lose. No entry fee even. Anyway, apparently Dylan's manager and the folks at Sony thought my cover was worthy. So, i get to go on a little shopping spree at Guitar Center. Daddy gonna get a new amp. Daddy gonna get a new amp.(me frothing at the mouth)
Last time I won something I was 10 years old on a small fishing boat in Long Island Sound. I opened up a packet of Hubba Bubba chewing gum to find "YOU WIN!" written inside the wrapper. I had apparently won the entire He-Man action figure collection complete with Skeletor's Castle! No shit. Anyway, I went to show my Dad who was driving the boat and a huge gust of wind hit my hand a blew that "YOU WIN!" wrapper skyward and ocean bound. Broke my little He-boy heart. Well, it's 24 years later and I finally won something else! Not as cool as the He-Man collection but still, a $2500 gift certificate to Guitar Center? I can live with that:)
