J.C.  MAZE

Vocals, Guitars, Drum Synth, Keyboards, Composer, Engineer

Age – 33

Influences – Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, Fleetwood Mac, Classic/Modern rock

J.C. Maze started playing guitar at 13 yrs of age. Fueled by a family full of music, it came naturally. After a long run in the Metal field, playing for such acts as KRATCHET, UNDERNEATH & SILENCE up into his late 20’s and releasing several cd’s with those bands, he decided that he need to explore other areas of music that have been ignored.

In Late 2001 he formed an all acoustic band consisting of a female Lead Vocalist (Jen Lawson), Acoustic Guitar (J.C.), Electric bass (Aaron Russell) & Keyboards (Dean Wildman) to create OFF THE BEATEN PATH. Their set list was totally made up of strange songs no one plays on stage like Kashmir by Led Zepplin & Sober by Tool. They achieved local fame in the South Ga. & Ala. Area and received multiple write-ups in PLAYGROUNDS MAGAZINE (www.playgroundsmag.com) and he still gets the support of those places today.

After the demise of OTBP, J.C. moved back to his childhood home of Stuart, Fla. In very late 2003 and promptly began work on his first solo effort and KOMATOAST’s first CD “Mangroves & Dead Bodies” with the help of long time friend Aaron Russell on bass, it was released in May 2004. The soundclick page (www.soundclick.com/komatoast) has had hundreds of downloads and it’s commercial success has been more than he had hoped.

Then, after many emails on when new material would be done, and not knowing what direction KOMATOAST was heading, he began work on the second release “In A Different Light” all on his own. Writing as he went, the songs became more detailed and more eclectic.  That cd is still in its infancy but has shown better numbers than the last so all things look good toward the future.

KOMATOAST third cd slated for a mid summer 2006 release.
