This week I interviewed Sandy Nelson. Grew up in Santa Monica, when to High School with Jan & Dean, Bruce Johnston & Kim Fowley. Started hustling & playing demo sessions and ended up with two top ten hits (Teen Beat and Let There Be Drums) ... then lost his foot & part of his leg in a motorcycle accident, started drinking... well the whole story is in the interview.

When I was a small child I used to wear headphones and listen to Sandy Nelson albums while I played drums along with it. I remember I liked "Whittier Blvd." and a coupla others. Those albums were my dad's.
