Current mood:blind?
Why is it that the darkness is so saddening? why do people hate to be alone at night? What is it that makes people sad??
These are things ive recently been thinking about. The night time seems to make people sad, not because its night time, but because of the darkness that comes in at night. Why does darkness cause sadness though....? I think the sadness is due to the fact that people dont want to be alone, and they relate darkness to being alone. People fear being alone, they like being in groups, ever since the beginning of time, people have traveled in groups, and at night is when people are most alone. The shadows seem to be the only thing that keeps people from being completely alone, and even those sometimes dont help. Even if you are standing in a room full of people, if the room is pitch black, it can be depressing, because that darkness causes everyone else in the room to "dissapear" and you to feel left by yourself. The light allows us to see things clearly, to where, darkness confuses us, it messes with the senses. Perception and reality blur, and fear strikes often times. Its a time of sadness for most people, and it is when most depression seems to happen, because of this misconception of darkness=alone. thoughts? comments??
