Polynesian Music Festival at The Planet Ultralounge The Planet hosts two chances to soak up Polynesian entertainment with 6 Note Entertainment's "A Night of Poly Essence." Kontiki spins bouncy, laid back island grooves spiced with reggae rhythms and R&B style; Pele and Dee, from New Zealand, form Cydel to churn out music they descibe as Pacific blues; American-Somoan singer Gary King channels Stevie Wonder and Prince in his Monterey debut; Jonitta does poppy R&B like the yearning "Make My Body Sang"; Tongan Outlawz (T.O.L.) do cheery street raps like "Hot Sunny Dayz in the 831" (yep, they're local cats.)
