Yeah! I got myself a new guitar this week! A very cool looking and great sounding, especially if you consider the price i payd, Johnson hollowbody. See the picture below. It's a copy of the famous Gibson ES-335 (also known as the Epiphone DOT).
My Johnson Hollowbody in the livingroomIt has been sold to me as beeing a '
Johnson Grooveyard', but i do have some doubts about that. Altough it looks the same, the headstock is different and Johnson doesn't have this model on their site (anymore?). Perhaps it was an older model, but i haven't managed to find it. Who cares anyway, it sounds fantastic and it looks great (oh, did i say that before? Uh-uh..). I bought it on e-Bay (Germany) for about US$300,- (€160,-). Didn't know what to expect for that kind of money but it really was a pleasant surprise!
I did some recordings (see picture above) only to show off how it sounds. No real songs or interesting licks. You can listen to them here:

Sample 1 (mp3)

Sample 2 (mp3)
To create a good demo-recording i used two microphones (Shure + McCrypt condenser) and put them in front of my little Electar Tube. I tried to record as "clean" as possible.
The picture as i saw it on e-Bay
Anyway.. i've been playing it for hours this week. New songs came bubbling up to, while doing so. Perhaps some new stuff soon!
