David Cook Concert
November 8, 2009
Palladium Ballroom
Dallas, Texas

by Cher/Hallelujah Living

David Cook and his talented band performed a thoroughly entertaining and emotionally power packed rock show at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas on Sunday night.  Cook and company rocked their 140th show of the tour mainly with songs from his self-titled debut album with a few others added to the mix such as MWK’s “Make Me”, Cutting Crew’s “(I Just) Died in Your Arms” and “Straight Ahead” from his independently released album, Analog Heart.

The Lord has truly blessed David with a powerful and hauntingly beautiful voice, which he used to perfection throughout the evening.  One of the highlights of the night was when he sang the emotionally stirring “Lie”, singing a verse a cappella.  “Bar-ba-sol” was another crowd-pleaser along with his current single, “Come Back to Me” and an encore performance of “Light On”.

David showed he knows how to entertain a crowd not only with his musical talents but his witty banter and onstage antics.  He also had great rapport with band members Neal Tiemann (lead guitar), Andy Skib (rhythm guitar and keys), Kyle Peek (drums) and Monty Anderson (bass guitar) which made the show that much more enjoyable.

It was wonderful to see David be a blessing to those around him throughout the evening.  Not only did he want to please the audience with his performance, he was genuinely thankful to the two opening bands, Green River Ordinance and The Script for joining him.  He also brought the two bands back onstage to sing Happy Birthday to his band mate, Andy Skib.  In addition, he made a shout out to a friend, up and coming Country Music Artist, Nick Gibson, bringing him onstage to say a few words, and asking the audience to check out his music.

David is a compassionate supporter of cancer research and tirelessly participates in those causes that are near and dear to his heart.  It is wonderful to see an artist who gives 110% during his performances, makes it a point to help those around him and is truly grateful for the support he has received as he reaches for those beautiful dreams the Lord has placed upon his heart!  May the Lord continue to bless him so he may continue to be a blessing to others.

P.S.  I do not care for the name "American Idol" but it is what it is.  Always remember, it is okay to admire someones talent but we should never idolize anyone!  God is the only one worthy of our worship!  God bless you!
