Paul VanDenBogaard and the Sons of the Beaches will be
performing at Café Mundo tonight (Friday) at 7pm. The lineup includes VanDenBogaard
on guitar, Bill Stiffler on bass and harp, Doug Thurber on mandolin, with Evan
Peterson and Perry Kanury on percussion.

VanDenBogaard describes the Sons of the Beaches style as
“beach bum music.” Having played together, in one form or another, for over 30
years, the Sons of the Beaches promise a mix of original material with lots of
finger-picking as well as a few classic covers from the world of folk, rock,
and blues.

Saturday night, Rick Bartow and the Backseat Drivers –
featuring an ensemble of musicians on instruments including guitar, bass,
horns, piano, drums and vocals – get a groove on at 7 p.m. performing original,
rockin’ coastal blues

The cafe celebrates its weekly Mundo Jazz Fest on Tuesday with a performance by
the Greg Ernst Trio - featuring Greg Ernst on guitar, Jan Kaplan on bass, and
Ray Vance on drums - set to begin at 7 p.m., followed by an open jam session.

Chayag performs Wednesday night, playing traditional music
from the ..Andes... Founded in ....Ecuador.... and
based in Otter Rock, the group performs on traditional Andean instruments
including the quena (a flute made of bamboo), the charango (a small lute), and
the bombo (a drum of pre-Columbian design). The performance begins at 7pm.

The café’s weekly Open Mic Night
for any and all performance artists is held at 7 p.m. Thursdays.

There is no cover charge for these all-ages
shows; the musicians, however, do appreciate any and all contributions to help
support their endeavors. CDs are available for purchase during performances at
Café Mundo, and contributions to the tip jar are warmly received.
