Hey again, dunno if this really matters or not but some of you all keep telling mw to continue with the blogs so heres another one to drop in the bucket.
You know theres a few things thats been on my mind lately, first I would like to thank josh for the idea but one thing that has been bothering me lately is the fact that in my personal experience when people ask me or when i ask people where you from and what nationality are you? Most people respond to the question with their heritage or roots, or so they say its their roots. I asked my wife what nationality she was and she told me she was a mexican american, even though she was born in the U.S. she still pre categorized herself into a latino ethnicity. YO u hear the term mexican american, african america, asain american, indian american, native amercian etc.
You would think that by now the mentality of the general populace would would accept the fact that we are all pretty much born here in america over the last 200 years as generations go by more and more are being assimilated into american born citizens. Does it really matter then what nationality you are? maybe the issue with trying to identify with something is the fct tht the cultures still have not fully collided with eachother, usually when i ask for a decent its because I want to know what culture or background someone comes from just so I can find ways to relate to them more, maybe have an identical interest in the same conversation.
I just can't wait until we start preaching in the streets, I am a Fuckin american, the color of my skin and the way i have been cultivated has no effect on the mentality of the American perspective. People look at us awkward when we step outside our comfort zone of home. They think were bullies and we take what we want and step on other nations to give us the better end of the stick.
I do believe there are things in this country that need solvency, but I will never turn my face from the flag, not because I am "Patriotic" but, because I believe in equality of life and the preserving of peace among civilized nations. We need a revamp in our mental structure, our views and process have caused many harms in the last century, Lets get Real with life and start taking things a bit more serious before we end up being the ones that need to be baby sat.
Happy Mothers Day,
