Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday T W A, Happy Birthday to you.

April 9th 2006, marked the 5th year of operation of the Texas Wrestling Academy. Some great times have been had with the TWA and some not so great times have been had as well. But that's the way it goes.

Milano Collection starred at the Super 8 tournament in March, and the phone calls have been coming in. Talks have run about concerning Milano going to TNA. Not trying to start a rumor, let me emphasize, they have talked.

The Team of Skitzo and Hector Navarro are the new Tag Team Champions. This came about due to a 'questionable' decision to book the at the time current Tag Champs the Texas Treats to defend the belts on April 8th. Let me get this straight... the Treats were the tag champions, they hadn't defended the titles since they won them, they walked out of the company, so what was there left to do?

Take this advice... the wrestling business is far bigger than me, you, or anyone else. Its not there to mock, its there to take care of. Its easy to sit in the front row, and criticize. Booking the Texas Tag Team Champions is what I chose to do, because of what would, or could have come out of it. And in my opinion, an outstanding matchup would have occurred. But others felt it wasn't 'right'. You don't know what is right, or not right. I have no problem with the critics except when it comes to second guessing a business move. Watch the matches, enjoy the show, and shut up. If you like the matches great, if you don't... don't come. Its that simple. I can deal with some of the harshest criticism. Its been dished out to me in the past by some people that know what they are talking about. I have also been given criticism by those that don't know what they are talking about. Its their opinion, and like it or not, you have to deal with it. Or get out of the kitchen. Not everyone is going to like what you say or do. I guess from a fans perspective, they are looking in, and see the big picture. From our perspective sometimes we only see what is around us. Every now and then we have to take a step back and look at everything. Many of us don't. Now if said fan wants to make a remark about the lack of effort in a wrestlers match, then go right ahead.

I see some of the T W E talent doing very well in the future. Two examples are the team of Skitzo, and Navarro. They journeyed into Matamoras Mexico on April 23 and were asked to come back the following week. No one was prepared for what awaited them.

A Texas Tag Team title match was set up for April 30th between the Texas Boys, actually they are using the name The American Boys, vs Aero Flash, and Sombra de Plata. Match was very competitive and the end saw one member from each team pinned. Navarro and Skitzo promplty grabbed the belts and left the ring, but were stopped by the 75-80 fans that were around the ring side seating area. After a lot of heckling and yelling back and forth, they went back into the ring and gave the local team another beating and they left the ring again. Or at least tried to. That is when the beer started flying, and the rocks were whizzing by their heads. Each guy had a bandana with the American Flag colors and used them to antagonize the crowd even more. Not good. One of the fans grabbed a bandana and a group of 5 guys began stomping on it, then they turned it on fire. As I told the boys afterwards, that is legitimate emotion that is hard to pull out of a fan. Most fans realize this is entertainment. Someone didn't tell these people. Going to Mexico is great experience for anyone trying to climb the ladder. A lot of the great ones spent some kind of time there. Chris Jericho, Norman Smiley (Black Magic), Chris Benoit( Pegasus Kid), Owen Hart, Val Venis, and others. Someone said they don't want to get put in a f*cked up match. The match is what you make of it. If its f*cked up, maybe its your fault. Another individual that made the journey to Matamoras was Cowboy James Claxton. Although El Pony handed him his ass, Claxton did do an outstanding job as well.

Another path the TWA boys have taken has been to N W A-Anarchy. Anarchy is based in Cornelia Ga. and is about 75 miles North of Atlanta. Great wrestling atmosphere there. This is the place where AJ Styles came from. Anyone and everyone on the Independents have made a stop there. And the core group of guys there are top notch. From Slim J to Chad Parham, to Onyx, and Iceberg, they are some hard working kids over there. To crack the roster isn't the easiest thing to do.

A couple of years ago, the group of Hotstuff Hernandez, Don Juan, Fast Eddie, Masada, and myself would venture there every two weeks and on our way to the Ring of Honor events in Philadelphia. Out of that group, only Hotstuff had success as the then NWA-Wildside Champion. Although the others worked hard, Masada, began a short run as Tag Team Champion with Todd Sexton, and then even later Fast Eddie began what turned out to be the longest running TV Champion reign spanning a little over a year.

Presently, Skitzo, Navarro, Bigg Dog and Thunder have created a niche and are doing very well. TNA Talent Relations top man Terry Taylor has been to several events and has been very impressed with the Texas Boys.

Back at home it seems a 'war' is raging between two promotions. T W E vs R C W. Its been said, and then denied, we're going to put RBG out of business. It ain't going to happen. T W E / T W A goes when I say it goes. Period.

Guys are in RCW for one reason, and one reason only. I wouldn't put up with their shiznit. Take a name, any name, and I will give you a list of examples. Read the top part of this RR. This business isn't here to make a mockery of it. And thats EXACTLY what the 'Prez' does. 'The show was standing room only, sold out'. What do you expect when you pass out a bunch of free tickets and theres only 3 rows of chairs around the ring. Wow. And yes, I have been asked by some of the VERY same fans that go to those shows and then ask me, ' why don't you give out free tickets'. Look at the website. Nice picture of Brandon Oliver walking to the ring with the belt drapped over his shoulder. What is he the Champion of? I know what I'll do. I will make Brandon the 'Prez' of the new TWE 'Mark Club'. Talk about repetition. Same guys in the Main Events. There's only one genuine draw there. And he's been that way for years. I don't recall anyone else in that group doing anything spectacular.

Here's a theory to think about when you see an indy wrestling show. Any show. "Can I beat the guy in the ring" ? Even a charactor as goofy as 'Eugene' looks like a tuff SOB. No, not every indy guy is built like a brick shit house, but at least a lot of them try by going to the gym at least for a little while during the week.

You can tell who the dreamers are. They're the ones that get offended with every little comment that is made about them, no matter how truthful it is. Those are the ones that can't or don't want to step up to the plate consistently. A lot of RCW guys are guys that I leaned on and said step it up. They weren't able to do it, and found an alternative. One Natural Athlete was told to buy a ticket after his match by a veteran. And no, not me. Talk about throwing a fit. Instead of taking that as a hint to step it up, and ask what he needed to do, he's a 'superstar' tackling referees. Oh 'he's entertaining'. Imagine how much more entertaining he would be if he spent more time learning his craft. Isn't the referee supposed to be the most respected individual in the ring? It doesn't take 4 years to heal from an ankle injury. And I think I beat that horse already. His response was a 'joke'. Yes, I breathe down guys necks all the time. Terry Taylor gave the very same exact criticism to him as I have been saying for years, no charisma.

So now I guess we won't see this guy in Anarchy ever again because he doesn't want anyone breathing down his neck. What are you doing planning on a future in the indies? Are you that insecure? Obviously you are. Losing $300 on a road trip???????? I don't think you've seen $300 at any one time in your life. A phone call to say you can't make a show isn't that hard to do. This is just like a normal job. No call, no show, no go. Bling Bling. Too many egos to do what's right. And not enough ego to say, 'I'm going to go against you guys and do what's right'. Dance your life away.

Glad to see that Don Juan and Fast Eddie went to the Dojo try outs in LA. A reliable source told me both were blown sky high during the drills. Why am I not surprised. Don Juan has talent, I will not deny not. DON JUAN HAS TALENT. Why can't he lift a barbell over his head. Why isn't he in Cornelia, Ga EVERY 2 weeks so that the TNA Talent Relations guy can see him. Can some one answer that question? Instead, why do you argue with a hardcore, loyal wrestling fan in an e-mail, because he said something that OFFENDED you. If a fan on the outside can see, why can't a guy on the inside see the same thing. I can deal with a fans remarks. They are the ones paying the bills. You don't have to like someone to exist in this business. All you have to do is have the same goal. That is the case here. I can deal with, and have dealt with a lot of people that I really don't agree with, but if it makes good business, I'll run with the devil. Hell, the devil just gave me a 5 star performance. In a 5 star event. Probably be Match of the Year. He's earned my respect. And to think he walked out because of a diffence of opinions 8 months ago. Now this doesn't mean that we're going to have B-B-Ques every sunday, but we're on the same page. For the record, my hand is out for him if he needs it.

Thanks to Lance Cade for stopping by and helping out with training. Lance is still the same guy that left the SMWA 5 years ago. Wanted to be at the T W E- W W C show this past weekend but had to be at a W W E show instead. He has it so hard. Another thanks goes out to Simply Luscious. Rumors has her in ECW in a couple of months. She has to get through the try-out first.

When Worlds Collide has been called the best Indy show in San Antonio in years. Some have said it made another 'big' event here look like a fart. That is nasty. The effort that was putting on this show was awesome from the students, to D J Rage, to the Hotdog lady to the T-Shirt sellers, Sergio the photodude... everyone.

Let me give you a look at what was going on the weeks before the event. Milano pulled out, or first mentioned about pulling out a couple of weeks in advance. A cyst had formed in his eye lid, it first appeared during the Super 8 Tournament, and we all held out hope that things would take care of themselves. A week out, Milano said for the first time, he wasn't sure he was going to make the show. He had flown to Japan, and was going to have a specialist look at it. When I went to bed Sunday night, Milano e_mailed me and said he was going to the doctor to get the cyst looked at. When I awoke Monday morning I received another e-mail that said he had surgery, and the doctor said to stay out of the ring for at least two weeks. The clock started ticking.

Theres a saying that I run by....'It doesn't matter what happens, what matters is what you do when it happens'. 5 days before 'When Worlds Collide' and 1/2 of my Main Event pulled out. If you go back to the Message Board, you will see when this started to take shape. There had been months of planning and arranging a time when Bryan Danielson would be able to come down, and fingers were crossed that he would have the RoH title with him. Months of planning and this show was starting to not look pretty. Milano did mention that he realized how important this event was, and he was going to try and be there. I just told him not to do something he's not supposed to do. The days turned into minutes as 6/11 was rapidly approaching. I didn't realize how expensive a plane ticket is when bought 4 days in advance. I was always told, that if there is a 'no-show', you need to replace it with something 'equal to' or 'greater than' what was promised. American Dragon vs Milano Collection has been mentioned as a Independent Wrestling Dream Match. I want to say thanks to Chris Daniels for showing up, when he could have been home in Los Angeles. One thing about this business, the boys always try and help each other out. the 'Real Boys' that is. And that is what happened. Thanks to Jason Havoc and JT Connaly for their 15 hour drive. Thanks to Cervantes and Rex Reed for taking the time to take part of this event. Thanks to Ladder, and Childs, and especially Rachel. Because of Rachel I think my overhead just climbed as we may need to hire a couple of San Antonio's finest for protection. Thanks to the crew that worked. And work they did. Another thanks to Bill Behrends of NWA-Anarchy, who was a huge assist in this effort. And then Thanks to TNA.

I hope 'When Worlds Collide' didn't disappoint. I can tell you, all the boys that walked out of the curtain left everything in the ring. There was no 'half ass' effort. As I promised to my students, followers, or whatever you want to call them, I will promise to the SA wrestling fans. I will do the VERY best I can to bring the VERY best in pro wrestling to this city. I don't need TV cameras, I don't need my mom selling tickets for me, and making snide remarks, you weren't making those remarks before, were you. I don't need to ask the fans 'choose' or not go here, you the fan are free to go where ever you want. That is your choice. I don't need to give away 1000 free tickets to draw a crowd. Thats the wrestlers job. TWE is the Only Major League Wrestling in Texas. The proof is in the pudding, and my momma didn't say that, I did.

Some people say they are doing this for the fans, well, we'll see. July 1st I will make an announcement that is based on EVERYTHING I commented on. How can you top W W C.??? You will have your chance.

I had forgotten to mention a few months ago the passing of a friend. El Tejano, a huge Lucha Libre star in Mexico passed away during surgery in January. Tejano was a very charismatic individual, very funny, and always willing to help out a foreigner from the United States.(me). Adios Amigo. See you soon.
