I wrote this story, I kinda liked it, so I'm posting it here. Enjoy.
Bob saw Fred in the alley way after he came out of the local pub. Bob wasn't at all surprised as this alley was behind Fred's house. "Good Afternoon Fred. Beautiful day isn't it?" said Bob. Fred just sat there with an awestruck look upon his face. Bob sat down next to him, turned towards him and asked, "What on earth has got you looking so shocked? Is everything ok with Thelma and the twins?" Fred just stared straight ahead for a minute in silence. When he was finally able to open his mouth he said, "Thelma and the twins are fine, Bob, just fine. As a matter of fact I just saw Kevin. He was in his room Kevin wearing his sister's wedding dress and kissing another boy." Bob slumped backwards in amazement and tapped his cane as he asked, "What did you do Fred?" Fred said, "Nothing, I couldn't do anything. I don't even think Kevin saw me. I just closed the door and came outside for some air, and have been sitting here for about an hour or so. I don't know what to do, it's not every day you find out your son is a cross dressing gay man. I'm not sure I know how to respond. I guess I just have to wait for him to tell me himself. Perhaps I'll sit here on this stoop until he tells me." Bob responded with a simple "Perhaps." Both men sit motionless on the stoop. Fred looking off into the distance and Bob keeps his gaze on Fred as if he might do something crazy at any moment. This was a lot for an old man to take in during one morning, especially in a very small Italian village outside of Rome. It's nice to know he won't have to face it alone.
