I have been receiving many messages regarding the secret to getting a great body so rather than trying to respond to everyone I will tell my secret. It's very simple actually..... THERE IS NO SECRET. The truth is, as I mentioned in my previous blog, is that all it takes is proper eating habits and hard work in the gym or where ever you choose to engage in physical activity. You must make your body work to burn calories and build muscle, which in turn sculpts the body into something more aesthetically pleasing. I could get into more detail on the proper diet and workout routines that I know work but I will leave that to you.. There are so many sources of information today I ask that you do some research of your own. You won't acheive your physical goals by having someone else do the work so why would you expect to gain knowledge having someone hand you the facts. You see bodybuilding and fitness is a lifestyle which includes mental focus as well.

Comment:

Because you inspire others to try and achieve what you clearly already have...."straight from the horse's mouth" as it were. But I do understand your point about appreciating the results even more if you are the responsible one for reaching your own goals. It's all about making daily choices, isn't it? [the right ones]

You're so right, I work in the gym myself and it's the only way to loose weight, to get muscles, or whatever! Of course your eating habits are important too, for sure!

I know what you are trying to say. I have a friend and we hang out all the time and when she comes over I ask her to go for a walk or a light jog but she will start to cry and say she can't do it. Well I don't know what to say to her cause I don't want to hurt her feelings. So do u have any advice for me cause she could really use some.

So true. I also have no secrets, but I have had to discover what works best for me. Everybody is different and therefore should do research on different 'methods' and try different things to see what works best to help each individual to reach their desired goals in weight loss and building up a muscular physique. So, people, research, learn and experiment. We didn't reach this far in our technological age without millions of man hours in research labs to discover new products and more efficient ways to run things. So, the same must be done with ourselves to reach our best health and most efficient metabolism.

It's time to get my sorry ass back down the gym. Work has been mad for past 4 months, not much spare time, too much booze and eating wrong things at wrong time of day.

I have shot up to 13 stone (182 lbs) and on a 5'5" frame that is about 35lbs overweight!

Been told not to worry about measuring body fat at home, because it is not accurate. That said, my scales say I am 32.5% fat......that just sounds disgusting.

So, my first goal is to shift 35lbs. If they were ALL fat, I would be 16% body fat.....and that sounds much more like it!

I like it - and there is only one thing I need to cut from the diet -beeeeeeeeer.

but I'm still scrawny. I guess when I push too hard, I hurt myself and then I'm off the weights and whatever I am doing is helping but at a slow pace.

but what I have in quotes up there really inspired me on some level and it will make me try harder....hmmmkay...

Yes, and it's an even greater challenge to try to find the time to work this hard on maintaining one's physique every day while also working, raising a family, etc.
Rock on!

So true. I keep getting asked about training routines but I've learned from working out with a friend that what worked for him didn't have the same outcome for me. Also, his metabolism is a lot faster than mine so he could eat more and still stay lean while I had to work a little harder at it. We both kept it simple (lots of protein and quality carbs).

You are so correct. I It's a triangle Top is Nutrtion than Cardio (Depending on if you need to lose wight or gain.) and Weights and the middle of it all is your drive and dedication.

Bodybuidling or even just working out to improve your help is not just once in a while thing.

It's a life ..style.. change.

Yes sir... Diet is key people remember.. Working out is like an equation and if you just lift without contributing proper diet your result wont be as beneficial.
