I know I promised an update on this whole situation right now so here it is.

About 4am on Tuesday I got a very real wake up call from a friend of mine who lives on the ridge of the valley behind my house. By 5 Justin had come over to my house and we got ready to evacuate. Justin and I met up again in San Marcos in a safe zone about 5 hours later and I called Ben and Coleman to make sure they were all good. Lucky for them both Ben and Coleman live right on the coast so they are very safe. For the past few days Justin and I lived out of backpacks and ate Dennys for 3 meals a day but I have to tell you it was an experience.

We were finally able to return home today after going past many Humvees and Police baracades. As I pulled into my drive way tonight I saw the fire on the mountain behind us but apparently we're all good as long as the wind is going the way it is. I want to thank everyone that's been messaging in or flooding my phone with texts.

To conclude this little update I would like all of you to read the latest To Write Love On Her Arms blog. It's a really powerful message about the fires and that this organization isn't blind to the struggles we're going through right now.
