Shout to Team Afficial, Illroots, Diggz and Ill Spoken. We appreciate ya'll man, fo' real. There is a lot of talent on the Mullet...Rapmullet that is. MCs, DJs, producers and entrepenuer's too. This right here is the showcase of said talent.
I'm gonna try to break down each track. Yea, a long as review is in your future. Walk with me people...
Beedie - Potent Product Freestyle. Flow is serious man. Beedie rides the beat like a vet, I can't front.
The Ill Spoken ft Max B - The Chow Line. Shout to DJ Nice on the beat. I'm not a fan of Max. Ill Spoken got MIC skills tho and they spit that rapid fire with precision.
Hood Fella ft Camiliano - The Truth (remix). This is a dope collaboration of MCs. Camiliano is so stready on the MIC. Hood Fella is still slept on but damn if he doesn't get his shit off. And he's one of the most authentic MCs on this project too.
Montega ft Opium - Drug Musik. Ahhh Montega giving ya'll another fix. Just what I needed some stab ya brain with ya nose bone music. Opium got some shine too.
Geolani Grandz ft Jamel Cashtro - Burning It Up. Metro Beats expanding his sound, I hope he blows up soon too. This is Geolani with that perfect MIC balance...not too much swag with just enough bars.
Willie Maze - Come Home With Me (remix). Is that Willie Maze or Zapp and Maze? Lol. I fuck with Maze cause he rides beats like he was born to do it. The hook was catchy on this too...damn you voice coder!
Full Clip ft Wiz Hoffa - I Shot Ya 2008. Lady Lyric and Evil Eye on a track? And Wiz bending bars too? (Clay Davis voice)Shiiiiiiit. These ladies are not to be fucked with on the MIC.
Boss Gang ft Montega - Disrespect. Wiz shinning on that hook man, good shit. Solid track all around.Geolani stays putting in that work.
Big Skeem - Take It To The Ground. Skeem sound like the most focused MC up on here. It's the focused flow.
Black Sun - Freestyle. This joint is hard man. I feel like shankin' someone now.
Wiz Hoffa - I'm So Tired. Ahhh man. This is the track I can relate to most on the project. I'm tired of mixtape reviews...but the struggle continues. Dope concept Wiz.
Meedah - You Don't Know Me. That piano got me open. Meedah got bars too. Track got a nice lil gutta vibe to it.
R Side - Ice Cream Man. This was a nice change of pace. It's that slow flow with some smoothed out lyrics. R Side always impresses.
Un Pacino ft Sean Perry, Semi Auto, & Boogz - Been Around The World. The beat is kind of happy for an Un Pacino track but it works. He needs to show that versatility more IMO.
J Rockwell - Black Sheep. Dude is just having fun on the MIC, I can dig it and that beat goes hard too.
Chosen Few Gang - I Need. Do I hear an anthem? Hell yea and it's g'd up too. Doesn't get much more authentic than this.
The Ill Spoken - How Sick I Am. EZ Mac gettin his shine on with this one. Def fucking with this vibe.
Noah Jones - No Easy Way Out (prod by Metro Beats). Noah is the content king with this one and that flow is serious as the Feds knocking on your door at 5 AM.
Streets & Young Deuces - On My Grind. Couple of veteran MCs right here people. Track got an ill bounce to it.
Awthentik - Ain't Stoppin Me. The hook grew on me. Talking about haters is getting a little played out in '09 but the track was cool.
Gawdbless - The One. Gawdbless with that straight forward monotone flow. P.O. laced the beat too.
Jimmy Hoffa - Knock Knock. Every track I ever heard from Jimmy he spits that fire water. Mad potential right here people.
Sean Perry - Da Prequel. Wasn't feeling the choice of beat with this one but Sean showed some flashes of skill on this one.
The Ill Spoken - Do It Again. Shout to DJ Osk on the beat. Go listen to that How High mixtape you won't be disapointed.
Ism, Dutch NY, & J. Conway - How I Represent. This is neck brace music right here. Dutch NY shinning bars wise, I can't front.
Solid ass project man. Couple things really stand out to me. First is cats have good production. No Casio and bangin' on ya moms pots and pans on here, a multitude of vibes and the shit is crisp sounding. Lyrically some MCs are more potent than other but there were few weak bars and some dope concept type tracks. I'm waiting on Part Three cause this series got some momentum right about now.
