I’m working at B&R and I’m just thinking as I once again mess up on a banana split. (At least this time I didn't forget the banana) I just couldn't help to notice the similarities in the problems my all female co workers are having compared to my all female choir & friends. I decided to explore why girls have a hard time...this is what I have so far...
THE NATURE OF GIRLS
Girls are naturally competitive with each other...in order to succeed girls think they must be better than the girl next to them. Girl A sees that girl B is getting more attention. So girl A either conforms to be more like girl B or decides to "hate" girl B. When girl A sees another girl she initially starts to compare; who’s better looking, who is more talented, ect. This is a form of competition that girl A goes through.
Rewards and complements. Girl A notices that another girl receives something (such as a complement) # 1. The jealousy factor (girl A may be in denial but deep down) # 2. The pity factor (she feels bad about herself “what’s wrong with me? why is she like that”) # 3. Fake High Road (girl A fakes and says "I’m happy for her" ect. while deep down she's thinking either #1 or #2) #4. Plotting (girl A plans how she can win, after all it is a competition right)
What are the solutions to this... Be secure with yourself! Reward yourself, you don’t need others! Find the good things in life.
There are solutions, it depends on who you really are and how much you can fight the silly things we do naturally...it's like sucking your thumb, when you’re young it's natural but if you GROW UP !!!you grow out of it. So how many girls do you see metaphorically sucking their thumb???
