A friend of mine posted the following on his Facebook today:

"OK, this is going to sound VERY VERY corny .. but I woke up this morning with tears in my eyes thinking about how incredibly lucky I am to have lived such a wonderful life, have such an amazing son, know such great people, have such a loving family, and (so far at least) haven't had to worry about where my next meal is coming from or if I'll have a roof over my head when I go to sleep. Perspective is a good thing!"

It made my day when I read this. I think I have a pretty good life too. There are some things I wish had turned out differently sometimes, but on the whole I think I've done ok. I don't take for granted the fact that I am healthy, employed, married to a wonderful woman, have a wonderful family, including a brother I idolize and and Father who tough me right from wrong early on, and have been blessed with creative musical talent.

The only thing I don't like about Life is that it goes by so fast. I don't want to get old. I can not longer hide the white hair on my temple, and don't really want to. Most of all I don't want to end up bitter and jealous. I hope when I get to my friends age I still feel this way about Life. Isn't it wonderful?
