On Sunday, TV21 hosted a unique performance from Canadian composer, Gabriel Minnikin. Today he has assembled a 17-piece orchestra; a veritable supergroup of local talent featuring members of Polytechnic, Cortina Deluxx, and Bone-box, amongst the wealth of violin maestros and trumpeters. With an unexplained darkness to his music, Minnikin almost slurs his gravelly Lou Reed lyrics, while the complexity of each arrangement transforms simple melodies into expansive Hitchcock scores. MV
