It was a great event!!!! So many cool and powerful women. It was awesome to have 6 Phoenix Fridas together: Panchita (Anita Mabante Leach), Tia Frida (Lucia Madrid), Chicanamama (Leticia de la Vara), Smoking Frida (Emily Costello), Frida Beader (Carmen de Novais) and of course Crafty Chica, the founder of the Phoenix Fridas Ms. Kathy Murillo herself.
Lots of wonderful people came to hear the lecture and power point presentation by Frida Beader Carmen. Many youngsters at heart participated in the craft table with Crafty Chica Kathy and left with a great Frida necklace, embellished with glitter. Our mercado area was always beaming with folks collecting amazing books and art pieces from the Fridas.
We saw some old friends, made some new ones and had a great afternoon away from the heat.
We enjoyed some music and ended the afternoon next door at Wildflower Cafe for a great bowl of soup and a cool drink!
We can't wait to do it again next year!
